The Senior PLC Software Developer – PLC/HMI Programmer at SIEI Automazioni will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Analyze the program requirements based on the machine’s intended function;
- Define the technical specifications of the project;
- Structure the program sequences according to the previously defined specifications;
- Write the program using specific PLC programming devices;
- Perform I/O (input/output) tests to ensure the program works correctly and is free from bugs (in case of errors, debugging will be required to correct the code and resolve the issue);
- Establish criteria and procedures for technical verification to ensure quality standards are met;
- Install the program on the machine, conduct testing, and start up the automated system;
- Configure control interfaces, such as HMI (Human Machine Interface) interfaces;
- Write technical documents and manuals for the program, technical support, maintenance, and software updates;
- Train technicians and operators on the functioning and use of PLCs.
Required qualifications for the Senior PLC Software Developer – PLC/HMI Programmer role:
- Qualification, diploma, or degree in a technical field;
- At least 3 years of experience in PLC/HMI programming;
- Knowledge of programming languages according to IEC 61131 standards, with particular attention to structured text;
- Familiarity with at least one of the most popular development systems, such as Siemens Tia Portal, Rockwell RSLogix 5000, or Beckhoff Twincat;
- Knowledge of the operation of frequency converters (inverters) and servo drives;
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams;
- Proficiency in using the Office suite;
- Knowledge of English (ability to communicate using industry-specific terminology);
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Independence and good interpersonal skills;
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
