The Senior PLC Software Developer – PLC/HMI Programmer at SIEI Automazioni will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Analyze the program requirements based on the machine’s intended function;
  • Define the technical specifications of the project;
  • Structure the program sequences according to the previously defined specifications;
  • Write the program using specific PLC programming devices;
  • Perform I/O (input/output) tests to ensure the program works correctly and is free from bugs (in case of errors, debugging will be required to correct the code and resolve the issue);
  • Establish criteria and procedures for technical verification to ensure quality standards are met;
  • Install the program on the machine, conduct testing, and start up the automated system;
  • Configure control interfaces, such as HMI (Human Machine Interface) interfaces;
  • Write technical documents and manuals for the program, technical support, maintenance, and software updates;
  • Train technicians and operators on the functioning and use of PLCs.

Required qualifications for the Senior PLC Software Developer – PLC/HMI Programmer role:

  • Qualification, diploma, or degree in a technical field;
  • At least 3 years of experience in PLC/HMI programming;
  • Knowledge of programming languages according to IEC 61131 standards, with particular attention to structured text;
  • Familiarity with at least one of the most popular development systems, such as Siemens Tia Portal, Rockwell RSLogix 5000, or Beckhoff Twincat;
  • Knowledge of the operation of frequency converters (inverters) and servo drives;
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams;
  • Proficiency in using the Office suite;
  • Knowledge of English (ability to communicate using industry-specific terminology);
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Independence and good interpersonal skills;
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
